Values can be shown in KB, MB, or GB the Automatic Units option changes the unit used for each file/folder based on its size for easier reading. The largest folders under any parent folder are easily identifiable with the highlight behind their text (this color can be changed in the settings). Folders can be sorted by size, total percent of space occupied in relation to other times under the same parent drive/folder, last modified date, and the total number of folders/files it contains. Can change the results to see a TreeMap version, giving you more of a perspective of the size difference between the subfolders. Displays results in a structure similar to Windows Explorer. Windows XP through Windows 10 are supported. In case nothing is hovered, it displays a short size overview of the scanned folder or drive. Hovering buttons and menu entries the status bar shows hints and explanations to the functions you're about to use. The treemap chart can be turned off/on with the View > Show Treemap Chart option. You might also use this pane to show a hierarchically structured treemap chart, to visualize your data.

You may customize the information and columns shown in the details view by right-clicking the columns header. This view is optional and can be turned off/on with the View > Show Details option.
The details list particularizes the scanned files. The arrows in front of each subfolder can be used to expand this view and look into the subfolders' contents. In the directory tree a graphical overview of the scanned drive or folder is shown. Use the "Select Directory" button to start the scanning process for a drive or folder.įurthermore, the arrows located in the quick access toolbar (usually the titlebar) allow to navigate forth and back through the recently selected elements within the directory tree. It is divided into logical sections such as the "Home" tab, containing commonly used functions and elements, or the "View" tab, enabling you to customize the appearance of TreeSize Free. The Ribbon Bar provides access to all commands of TreeSize Free.
